Our goal is to solve waste mismanagement in Indonesia and revolutionize its recycling systems. 70% of Indonesia's garbage production in 2020 was mismanaged, with over 60% of generated waste failing to be collected. Public waste collection, as seen in many developed countries, barely exists in Indonesia. Instead, locals are left with limited options: burn their waste, discard it into a nearby river, or pay for expensive private waste collection services. Many Indonesians can't afford these services or don't want to pay for basic needs.
That's where NoLimbah comes in. We provide a platform that connects households with Pemulung, informal waste collectors, through an easy-to-use app similar to online food delivery. Our solution is faster, more reliable, effective, and convenient than other tech trash platforms available. Unlike some other apps that merely provide information about dumping points and expect users to take their waste there themselves, NoLimbah's approach motivates users to manage their waste responsibly and provides a quick and convenient solution.
Our approach not only benefits users, but also brings more jobs to informal waste collectors and generates more tax revenue for the economy. We're partnering with local authorities, informal waste collectors, and a group of beta-testing households in Ayunan village, Bali to refine our solution based on user feedback. With your donations, we can ensure household waste collection through a fair and profitable model for everyone involved, help the community develop more eco-conscious habits, and work towards preserving our Earth.
The NoLimbah App has collected 200kg of inorganic waste, all thanks to your support! This time, 100% of the waste collected was sorted, compared to 86% during our last round of testing. This is a big behavioral change toward better waste disposal! Al
To achieve this within 3 months, we will need to refine our app so that we can serve more users and work with more informal waste collector. You can participate in helping the local communities by supporting our expansion throughout Bali and beyond!
We built a mobile application that is as simple as food delivery or ridesharing apps and helps households in Indonesia get their waste collected in minutes by connecting them to the nearest informal waste collector. Instead of paying a waste collection service like most households currently do, they will get paid for their inorganic waste contribution.
