Using the unique power of circus, we empower children and youth in developing countries to unlock their full potential and build strong social skills, healthy identities, and a sense of belonging to their communities. We advocate for and promote environments that enable young people to grow,
MMCC tells a story of hope and resilience through the revolutionary medium of circus. Founded in 2002 in war-torn Afghanistan, we have grown to become a leading global Social Circus organization, using our unique approach to empower children and youth in conflict zones. Our innovative pedagogy, developed out of necessity due to a lack of resources, has become the cornerstone of our success. Through the dedication of our global network of volunteers and contributors, we have been able to expand our reach and change the lives of young people around the world.
What radically distinguishes MMCC is the way in which we have been shaped by the very children and youth we serve. In partnership with local volunteers and staff, they have been the driving force behind the development and implementation of our programs. Berit Muhlhausen and David Mason have been at the helm of MMCC since its inception, providing the tools and resources necessary for sustainable growth and success. Together, we are creating a brighter future for children and youth in some of the world's most challenging environments.
